What Your Child Can Explore In Viola Lessons

Bow Technique

Viola is slightly larger and heavier than violin, so proper posture and bow technique matter from day one. Students learn how to hold the instrument comfortably, develop a smooth bowing motion, and build habits that support healthy playing as they advance.

Reading & Ear Training

Learning to read alto clef (which is unique to viola), play scales, and develop the intonation skills that string instruments require. Students build their ear alongside their reading so they can self-correct and play confidently.

Beautiful Music

Viola has a warm, rich sound that stands out in ensemble settings, and lessons are shaped by whatever music your child is drawn to.
