Maestro Music Lesson Policies

At Maestro Music, we aim to make music education joyful, flexible, and simple — especially for busy families. Here's everything you need to know to keep things running smoothly.

Lessons & Pricing

Every lesson is 30 minutes, so it's easy to mix and match lesson lengths or split time between siblings — a 60-minute lesson simply counts as two 30-minute lessons.

Instead of fixed plans, your family's rate is based on the total number of lessons your household books per 28-day cycle, combined across all your children:

  • 4 lessons / 28 days — $37.50 per lesson
  • 8 lessons / 28 days — $35 per lesson
  • 10 lessons / 28 days — $32 per lesson
  • 12+ lessons / 28 days — $30 per lesson (our lowest rate)

EXAMPLE: The more your family books together, the lower your per-lesson rate — so if you have two kids each taking one weekly lesson (8 lessons total), you'd both pay $35/lesson.

Your rate runs on a 28-day billing cycle, so it stays the same every cycle no matter how the calendar falls. Billing is automatic through Stripe on your enrollment date.

Want to add, remove, or change lessons? Just do it from your account anytime — changes kick in at your next 28-day cycle, so there's nothing to prorate or untangle mid-month.

Free Trial

First things first — every new family starts with a free trial with one of our hand-selected teachers, either a single live one-on-one lesson or a full free month of lessons, depending on your enrollment path.

After your last free lesson, you'll have 6 days to enroll and keep your spot with that teacher.

You're Already Matched

No need to browse profiles — when you sign up, we match you with a teacher based on your instrument, schedule, and funding type, and your free trial happens with them. If you already know who you'd like to work with (say, a referral), just book through that teacher's profile page instead.

Changing Your Schedule

Need a new recurring time? Just request it from your account with the tap of a button — your teacher will review and approve it before it's locked in.

Want a different teacher altogether? No hard feelings — email us at info@maestromusic.online and we'll help find a better fit, whether it's about scheduling, teaching style, or personality.

Rescheduling & Missed Lessons

48+ hours' notice: your credit is safe, and you've got 28 days to use it for a makeup lesson. Less than 48 hours' notice: the credit isn't recoverable, unfortunately. If your teacher cancels or doesn't show: your credit is always preserved, no matter what. We get that things come up — repeated last-minute cancellations without a heads-up may still affect your account, so just keep us posted when life gets unpredictable.

Pausing or Ending Lessons

Need a break? You can pause your enrollment for up to 21 days right from your account — no need to email in. Pausing stops billing while you're away and holds your spot with your current teacher.

If you ever need to stop altogether, that's easy too — it lives in your Account settings.

If Your Teacher Needs to Cancel

Short notice from your teacher: your credit is always preserved. You can reschedule for that week or the next, or just hold the credit toward next month. Leaving Maestro Music: we'll give as much notice as possible (2–4 weeks) and personally match you with a new teacher — you're welcome to stick with them, ask for someone else, or step away if it's not the right time.

Getting the Most Out of Lessons

A little goes a long way:

Regular practice (even 10–15 minutes a day helps!) A tuned, working instrument A quiet space with good lighting Reliable internet and the Zoom app ready to go We know life isn't always tidy — some weeks are busier than others, and that's okay. Progress isn't a straight line.

For younger students, having a parent nearby (especially early on) helps a lot. As kids settle in with their teacher, most families naturally step back — but you're always welcome to sit in.

Adding Instruments or Teachers

Want to pick up a second instrument, or add a lesson with a different teacher? It's easy — just add it from your account anytime. New lessons are folded into your existing 28-day cycle, so your family's combined lesson count (and rate) updates automatically.

Getting in Touch

Scheduling or lesson questions? Message your teacher right from your account, or email them directly. Billing, tech, or admin stuff? Email info@maestromusic.online — we'll get back to you within 24 business hours. Something urgent? Email both and pop "URGENT" in the subject line.

Billing & Payments

Billing runs automatically every 28 days via Stripe. If a payment doesn't go through, we'll let you know right away and give you a little breathing room before anything's paused — we'd always rather work with you than pause your lessons.

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds under any circumstances — this includes missed or cancelled lessons, unused credits, or account cancellations. The one exception: if your teacher has an extended absence, any credits you couldn't use will be refunded. If a lesson is missed or a credit can't be used for another reason, please see the Rescheduling & Missed Lessons and Pausing or Ending Lessons sections above for your options.

ESA & Charter Families

Everything above applies the same way to ESA and Charter families as it does for private pay. Charter students are matched only with background-checked, charter-approved teachers. If your school isn't on our list yet, just request it from your account — we'll get you started under private pay in the meantime so lessons aren't held up. If funding is delayed or runs out, you'll have a week to sort out an alternate payment so nothing skips a beat.

Questions about anything here? We're always happy to help — just reach out at [info@maestromusic.online].
