Madison Stepherson

Ph.D. Music Theory

Madison is a classically trained vocalist and woodwind player with a Ph.D. in music theory and graduate training in the anatomy and physiology of breath. That background gives her a unique understanding of how air, embouchure, and body mechanics work together to produce a great saxophone tone. She's patient, encouraging, and especially effective with shy or nervous beginners.

What Your Child Can Explore in Saxophone Lessons

Breath & Embouchure

Proper breathing technique, mouth positioning, and the foundational skills that produce a clean, consistent tone. Saxophone is a breath-driven instrument, and these basics make everything else easier as students progress.

Reading & Finger Technique

Learning to read music, navigate the keys, and build the finger dexterity that lets students move between notes smoothly. Students also develop ear training so they can recognize pitch and self-correct over time.

Playing Music They Enjoy

Jazz, classical, pop, blues, rock, or whatever catches your child's ear. Saxophone is one of the most expressive instruments around, and lessons are shaped by the music your child wants to play.
