I grew up in a musical family. I started piano at three with my mom, who taught a large piano studio, and fell asleep each night to the deep vibrations of my older sister practicing double bass in the same room. By eight, I was singing with what's now known as the New England Children's Choir, spending Saturdays studying solfege, theory, and all things musicianship. As a young adult, I spent entire summers studying and performing chamber music as a cellist at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in New Hampshire.
I went on to earn a Bachelor's in Cello Performance from the University of Massachusetts and a Master's in Music Education from Boston University. I've played with the Portland Symphony, the Florida West Coast Symphony, and the Aspen Summer Chamber Orchestra, and I conducted a student ensemble, I Giovani Solisti, for three years, leading performances in Austria and Boston that premiered new works for chamber orchestra.
What to Expect
My favorite role in music has always been working one-on-one with students who want to learn. I've studied with some of the best musician educators in the world, and that deep base of teaching knowledge helps my students learn efficiently and start experiencing the joy of making music early on.
Every student has different interests and needs, and I make it a priority to get to know each one. Lessons are built around where you are and where you want to go, with patience and warmth but also high expectations. I believe music allows us to express ourselves in ways that aren't always possible with words, and I want every student to feel that for themselves.
A Bit About Me
I believe music is a language that lives within all of us. That belief is what's driven me to teach for as long as I have. I teach music because it brings joy, connection, and comfort to people's lives, and because I've seen firsthand how it changes the way students see themselves and relate to the world around them.
I make it a priority to see each student clearly, to understand what they need and what excites them, and to meet them there. I bring an open mind, deep respect for my students, and the understanding that I'm not just teaching an instrument. For me, there's no greater purpose than nurturing students through music and watching how it enriches their lives.
